Once you have your venue and photographer sorted, dress shopping is next (the best bit haha!)
It’s never too early, as long as you are ready to say yes, you are ready to shop at 130!
I’ve brides for late 2024 & brideys for 2025 who have ordered their wedding dress last year!
If you’re not ready yet, I advise you not to shop yet just in case you fall in love with a dress that gets discontinued before you’re ready to order it.
Instead, just do a bunch of research into which style / designer you are looking for!
💫The cut
💫 The silhouette
💫 The embellishments
💫 The colour
💫 The accessories
Also, TOP TIP lots of shopping can lead to confusion, everything starts to blur into one.
I tailor your bridal appointment to your ideas, its the best personal shopping appointment! 😊
The whole process can take 12 months - everyone is playing catch up due to demand with Covid and Brexit
Within this timeframe, once you find THE gown, standard lead times on gowns are currently 5-6months.
Then alterations can take up to 3 months depending on what you want doing to your wedding dress.
Once you find the dress I always recommend saying yes - especially as you keep thinking about it AND you showed your bridesmaids!
I always say, remember how special you felt in your dress during the appointment.
💫And that was just a sample! Imagine what you will feel like when you put your wedding dress on!💫
As the world is a bit crazy right now, I don’t want anything to delay you getting your dress.
I’d prefer you to have the dress a tad early than delayed!
I would order your wedding dress as per your measurements that were taken during your appointment. Seamstresses are like real life Fairy Godmothers!
I have 2 ladies I recommend, both have over 2 decades of working in the bridal industry.
You can have as many alterations as you want - brides usually have 2/3 anyway as everyone wants to look their best.
I always say, if you feel good in the dress now in a sample that isn’t quite perfect, imagine how amazing you will feel in her when she is your ACTUAL dress!
